Courses

 

Theology is a Programme of the School of Social Social Sciences and Humanities. It is taught on the basis of a partnership between the University and the Perth College of Divinity Inc, which consists of members from the following participating institutions:
  • John Wollaston Theological College (Anglican)
  • College of Theology of the University of Notre Dame Australia
  • Perth Theological Hall (Uniting)

Theology has developed within the Christian tradition as a critical study and interpretation of the sources and forms of that tradition. Programmes of study in theology are designed both for those who wish to pursue such studies out of personal interest and for those who have vocational goals in ministry.

There are five major areas of study:
  • Old Testament
  • New Testament
  • Church History
  • Systematic Theology and
  • Practical Theology.

The following ordinary degrees are available:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Theology (BA)
  • Bachelor of Theology (BTheol)
  • Master of Ministry (MMin)

Theology also offers Bachelor of Arts Honours and Bachelor of Theology Honours.
The School of Education also offers Bachelor of Education Studies (Education and Theology).

Research degrees include the following:

  • Master of Theology (MTheol)
    3 semesters, of which 1 is coursework
  • Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
